Spending 3 days in Algarve was one of the most incredible summer trips we have ever had. We were 4 people on this trip that started in Lisbon and took us to the beach capital of Portugal. A trip we definitely recommend for the summer and here are the places you should go!
We’ll show you:
If you are looking for a photographer in Algarve – Portugal, send a message.
1. Lagos – 3 days in Algarve
The capital of the Algarve is Faro, but the Algarve region is made up of some very interesting cities including Lagos, Lagoa, Albufeira and Portimão.
After researching a lot we chose the city we like in terms of good location to go to other cities, attractions within the city and beaches. And the city we decided to stay was Lagos.
Our first stop was Praia dos Estudantes. Right away we were enchanted by the crystalline color of the water, transparent until we lost sight of it. We were also struck by the natural stone structure that we saw there, with the only beautiful human intervention, which was the construction of a bridge that joins two gigantic stones. Amazing!
2. Crazy Sunset!! – 3 days in Algarve
The day went by and one of the things we most like to do when we travel around is watching the sunset, the colors changing from city to city. And that’s what moves us. Take advantage of the golden hour light to make photos. And the Algarve is the perfect setting for amazing photos. Even on vacation, we wish we had a beautiful couple there to photograph 🙂
We chose Ponta da Piedade to watch the sunset and we did not regret it. The sun went down and touched some parts of the stones for the last time in the day, ending at the top tip. It’s like a game. But with the hope that tomorrow there will be a return and a rebirth.
And suddenly the sky changed color, everything became more lilac: the clouds, the horizon and the ocean. For a few minutes it felt like a dream. And there we saw the arrival of the night, also beautiful.
3. Benagil – 3 days in Algarve
Even wanting to escape from the hottest places in the Algarve, the idea of having a cave in which its top was open, with a good stretch of sand and an area with the waves hitting lightly, delighted us. And we didn’t miss the opportunity to get to know Benagil. Beautiful from the beggining to the end.
We had already seen photos, but seeing it in person was much better. Gratitude for being there, watching the sunlight pass through a hole made by the action of time, by the action of nature. It’s beautiful to see how everything is at our disposal at all times, we don’t need things, just moments like these.
The images below were taken with the cell phone, because we arrived in Benagil in kaiak, the two of us paddling and the risk of dropping the camera in the water in these conditions was very high. But the records were incredible. No better than seeing it in person.
4. Secret Spot – 3 days in Algarve
Our trips are marked by the search for new, different, little frequented places and we can even say that they are secret. It was in this search that we found a village of houses close to Arrifes beach, with incredible architecture, colorful bouganviles in the houses, the light passed between the buildings and is one of those places where we would do anything to live. Lots of peace and beauty.
At the end of this walk we came across a beach that had nobody! Either the people were gone or it was an uncrowded beach. But a movie set. Very beautiful!
The sun was already setting and we took the opportunity to ask our friend Nathalia Duarte to photograph us. Much love for this light, this flare and for living that moment.
And as always, one portraying the other. In the absence of couples to do so, we experiment with ideas with ourselves.
5. Ponta da Piedade – 3 days in Algarve
For the last day we decided to return to Ponta da Piedade, because we had only been to the sunset and left us with a great desire to go back there to enjoy that beach. Our 3 days in Algarve were finishing! 🙁
With few waves, we decided to take the kayak again and go exploring, paddling to the right, passing through the caves, we saw little fish, we felt the sun, the wind and the freedom. The water was incredible and we could only be grateful for this trip.
After those 3 days in Algarve, we came back to Porto.
We have many other travel stories to tell!
See you soon!
