Photographing an Engagement Session in Portugal is always a pleasure for us. Although living only a year and three months in this wonderful city we know every photographable place of it, we know how the light behaves at every moment of the day and for travelers who want to leave the usual, we take them to places that are not very touristy but that still have the soul of Porto and Portugal. Breathtaking views, historic places, small streets, colorful buildings, the Douro River, Dom Luiz Bridge and the lights of São Bento Train Station.

The Portugal Engagement Session of Jackie and Jorge

Today we will tell the story of two human beings who has chosen the city of Porto to their Engagement Session in Portugal. When we asked them to write how they met and their story we already fell in love with Jackie’s words: “The connection was almost spiritual” to this kind of connection we call Soul Meeting.

Dance is one of the main performing arts of antiquity, along with music and theater. Their souls have known each other for a long time because they dance with each other and seem so happy to have met that they can’t stop celebrating and dancing their love.

São Bento Train Station, a nice spot for romantics photos

Photographing them was very simple and fluid, we met at São Bento Train Station, a place where we love to photograph! We are always enchanted by the way the light enters the stained glass, makes the light warmer. We feel embraced by the history of that session and the energy of comings and goings.

That was when they first danced, Jackie and Jorge stopped in the middle of the entrance in the São Bento train station to dance, to flow. Seeing the photos we can even hear the music that was going through the ear of those two, the affection for each other is so strong that it is clear to those who see’s it.

Walking in Porto with Jackie and Jorge at their Engagement Session in Portugal

Then we walked around the city towards Igreja do Carmo, with its blue tiles (azulejos) and lots of history to tell. A short break through the streets, see the way the light hits buildings, how the architecture of the University of Porto behaves and how we can compose with this beautiful couple. It was really nice to share with them that moment.

Then the tour led us to the Miradouro da Vitoria, but before we passed through the Garden of Cordoaria, it is winter and the trees were all leafless, which makes the Garden of Cordoaria have a big hall, only photos can explain what we feel when we pass by. It’s lovely how nature behaves in every season of the year.

We arrived at the Miradouro da Vitória, from there we can see everything, the Douro River, the Dom Luiz Bridge, Ribeira de Gaia and Ribeira do Porto, the red roofs (one of Porto’s charms) and the Porto Cathedral.

Douro River – What a Romantic Spot!

In addition, our lenses could capture something else, an amazing couple, Jackie and Jorge were there enjoying each other and enjoying the scenery. For us both (Nathalia and Pedro), it was breathtaking, the beautiful scenery and the beautiful couple.

From there we went down to the Douro River, enjoying every experience that the historical streets could give us and each record that the love of this couple could offer us.

We saw many historical buildings, colorful houses and walls painted with creativity. We also saw Jackie and Jorge dancing in the streets of Porto and we were grateful for how much the couple surrendered to the photographs, grateful to have known them, grateful to live in such a beautiful city and happy to be living that moment, the present moment with our cameras.

We love to tell love stories and this was a beautiful one.
